Dr. Hopkins

Dr. J. Jill Hopkins, M.D., F.R.C.S.C

Dr. J. Jill Hopkins specializes in hereditary retinal degenerations and visual electrophysiology. Dr. Hopkins received her medical degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1990. She completed her internship and residency in Ophthalmology at University of Toronto, Canada. Her fellowship in retinal diseases was with Professor Alan Bird at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England.

Dr. Hopkins established an academic practice specializing in macular degeneration and inherited retinal disease at the University of Toronto in 1996. In 2004 she completed subspecialty training in visual electrophysiology at Moorfields Eye Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Ottawa Eye Institute. Dr. Hopkins is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. She directed the Retinal Degeneration Program at Doheny Retina Institute from 2004 to 2006. She is also appointed at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital.

Dr. Hopkins brings her unique combination of medical retina and electrophysiology training to Retina Vitreous Associates, and oversees the Visual Function Lab, now offering full service electrophysiology testing. These include erg, eog, vep, and multifocal erg.
