Dr. Rahhal received his Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania prior to attending Medical School at the University of Connecticut. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Cornell University Medical Center. After a two year vitreoretinal surgery and uveitis fellowship at the University of California San Diego, he was named Director of the Retinal Service at Cornell University Medical Center and remained in the post for five years. Dr. Rahhal is on the faculty at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is an experienced clinician and clinical researcher, participating in many national clinical trials. His research endeavors have resulted in over 25 peer reviewed publications on a variety of retinal diseases, and he is regularly a presenter at major international scientific meetings. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and the Retina Society.
